| Robert Zulu's Testimony of Salvation |
|
Robert Zulu I give thanks to God for my parents especially my mother who instructed me from childhood to trust in God. She introduced me to church on Sundays. She was an example to me of Christianity and its morals. May God richly repay her with life everlasting? In spite of my religious upbringing I did not have a moment I could look back on and claim to have an experience of my sins forgiven. In 1984, sometime in January or February, as I was participating in youth meetings and sharing of the gospel, it dawned on me that I myself had not actually knelt before God to ask for forgiveness. John 3:36 which says, “ he who has the son has everlasting life” and John 3:16 (for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life) meant a lot to me. Over a period of one or two weeks I constantly knelt in my room to ask God for forgiveness. Things that were godly became dear to me and for the first time I felt an assurance of eternal life and was at peace with my maker, the God of heaven. Since then, I am grieved by the amount of sin around us and pray that God will use me to be an instrument for the salvation of one of his own. Amen! |
